American Cocker Spaniel Description

The American Cocker Spaniel is a very pretty dog in its appearance with its beautifully flowing silky coat which feathers on the dog’s chest, ears, legs and abdomen, the head is round and dome-shaped with a stop which is pronounced. Their ears are pendant styled and set low on the dog’s head whilst the eyes are big and round. They come in solid colours or combinations including black, merle, roan and brown.

American Cocker Spaniel Character

The American Cocker Spaniel is a friendly, lovable breed with its ever wagging tail and nose firmly fixed to the ground! Generally they like to swim and fetch, they are a happy dog, their nickname is ‘The Merry Cocker’, always eager to please. Their nature is sweet and they are relatively easy to train with the hardest part coming with keeping them still. American Cocker Spaniels do have a tendency to become shy and reserved so lots of socialising is the answer, they adore playing and being part of a family environment. This breed will never make a good guard/watch dog as they are simply too friendly and seem to adore everyone! American Cocker Spaniels are devoted to their family and are a charming dog to have around.
