'Puppies for sale' is only 3 little words but for potential puppy owners they are the most important words in the English language. The problem is that people are generally so enthusiastic about purchasing a new, cute and fluffy puppy that they do not always consider the important facts that they should be considering.
The excitement begins for many people when they read the words puppies for sale in the local newspaper or perhaps the advert in the shop window that reads puppies for sale UK. If you are searching the internet for puppies for sale you will be amazed at how many different websites will come up, you can narrow your search by putting 'puppies for sale UK.' Please be careful though and ensure that the website is a reputable one.
We began our puppies for sale UK website because we were literally shocked at the conditions some breeders actually kept their puppies in. Sadly some people become involved in breeding dogs purely for the money and not for their genuine love of dogs; to these breeders the money earned is far more important than the dog's welfare.
1. Always ensure that you ask lots of questions initially either on the telephone or via e-mail. Breeders should never be hesitant and should actually be more than happy to disclose any information that you request regarding their puppies for sale.
2. Arrange a visit first, do not just turn up wishing to buy the puppy and take him home all at the same time. It is always a better option to go along to the breeder and view the whole litter of puppies for sale.
3. Take note of the location, is it clean? I do not mean is it spotless as this would be difficult to achieve when you have puppies for sale but ensure that it is hygienically clean where the puppies are being housed.
4. Check that you can view the mother dog with her puppies, this is very important as it will allow you the opportunity to observe the dogs together. Watch the mother with the puppies as this will give you a good indication of her temperament. When breeders have puppies for sale they should have no hesitations in letting potential buyers view them with their mother.
5. If you can see the father dog then it is even better but if you cannot then ask the breeder for a photograph at least. If one cannot be provided and the breeder appears to be vague then I would be suspicious.
6. Ask about the background of the puppies for sale. Discover where the parent dogs are from if they are not from the UK then please be especially careful you are best advised to stick to puppies for sale UK.
7. Never arrange to meet a breeder with puppies for sale, this is a very bad idea and do not accept a puppy being dropped off to you just for the convenience of the situation. Always ensure that you visit the puppies for sale in the place that they were bred.
8. Be aware that vaccination cards are simple to fake. Look for points like the vet's address and contact details and do not be afraid to contact them. Be particularly careful if the vet has an address outside of the UK.
9. Never be tempted to purchase a puppy just because you feel sympathy for it however hard it is to walk away. Phone the RSPCA and alert them to the breeder, they will check it out for you as they are obligated to follow up calls.
I know it seems like an awful lot of points to look for but each one is imperative. There are numerous puppies for sale UK and you must ensure that you are buying from a reputable breeder. 2. Try and set up one to one contact as soon as you possibly can either via a phone call or face to face. This will allow you the chance to work out the type of person they are.
3. Ask lots of questions if some seem a little personal do not worry. You have the puppies for sale and it is your right to wish to know as much as possible about where they will be homed.
4. Ensure you ask about their lifestyle and if the puppy has to be left at all. You should also enquire if they can cope financially; just ask if they realize the cost of keeping a puppy.
5. When you have puppies for sale you must be organized and have all their papers ready to go as soon as the buyers turn up. Offer a diet sheet and some of the food that the puppy has been consuming.
6. Do not 'haggle' over the price of your puppies for sale; if a buyer is asking you to reduce the cost then they most probably do not possess the finances to keep the puppy.
7. Never agree to meet buyers halfway or deliver a puppy to them. If they cannot even be bothered to visit you and the puppies for sale then you must question their commitment to the puppy.
