White Swiss Shepherd Description

The White Swiss Shepherd (Berger Blanc Suisse) was first recognized as a new breed by the Swiss Kennel Club in 1991. Ten years later in July 2011 the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) gave their full recognition to the breed at the World Dog Show in Paris. The WSS is a medium-sized, powerful but elegant dog which has erect ears and a white double coat which is either medium or long in length. Its body is elongated in shape with a ratio of 12:10. Pigmentation on nose, lips and pads are black and it has a bushy saber like tail. It has its own distinct breed standard.

The White Swiss Shepherd has a lively and balanced temperament. A friendly, intelligent breed with a soft, compliant nature, with correct upbringing and training they make ideal companions for families and individuals. They are a breed that likes to be with and are devoted to the family, they enjoy regular interaction/stimulation and exercise.
