Tibetan Terrier Description

The Tibetan Terrier is a medium sized breed of dog with paws that are round, flat and large resembling a snowshoe. The paws gave the dog the grip it required to pass over the mountainous terrain in Tibet. They are a muscular dog with a profuse coat, this can be wavy or straight, the colours can vary and include white, cream, golden, grey and tri-colour. The tail is well feathered and carried up over the dog’s back, the ears are pendant styled.

Tibetan Terrier Character

The Tibetan Terrier is not a typical terrier as it has no terrier traits. It is more closely related to the Lhasa Apso than a terrier. They are lively dogs requiring a high amount of exercise. They are affectionate with their family but reserved around strangers making tham a good watchdog for alerting you to potential danger. Intelligent but also independent so a challenge to train. A lovable, friendly and playful dog.
