Silky Terrier Description

The Silky Terrier is a dainty, pretty and compact small terrier akin to the Yorkshire Terrier. It has long hair which requires daily brushing to keep it tangle free, unlike the ‘Yorkie’ their coat should not touch the ground. It should be beautifully silky and fine in texture and is generally a blue/tan combination. The ears are triangular and erect and the tail is set high.

Silky Terrier Character

This is an affectionate, loving, alert and brave little terrier breed. The Silky Terrier loves nothing more than to be alongside its owner and family, for a small dog they are surprisingly energetic and lively. They require a lot of exercise in order to keep them calm! They are extremely eager to learn new commands and the challenge comes from keeping them still long enough to train them! Good with children but only if they know who is in charge as they can be slightly bossy and always take caution with small animals due to their high terrier chase instinct. They are protective of their owner and wary of strangers. A cheery, happy and lively small dog.
