Irish Red and White Setter Description

The Irish Red and White Setter is athletically built with high set pendant styled ears. The eyes are generally hazel or dark brown in colour. Their back legs are muscular and powerful. The tail tapers and the fuller part usually feathers nicely. Their coat is medium length with white seen as the base colour with solid red patches.

This breed is energetic and very lively they are also super affectionate and loving with a gentle nature towards children and other animals. Their intelligence is coupled with a high-spirited personality therefore making training a challenge, they can be reckless and independent so do require a firm but fair owner. The Irish Red and White Setter is quite a sensitive soul and tunes in very quickly to those around it. They do require a lot of exercise and love to run.
