Black and Tan Coonhound Description

The Black and Tan Coonhound is a large hound. They have a lovely glossy, short coat which is similar in colour to the Doberman being black and tan. The ears are long and pendant styled and set back a fair way on the dog’s head, the tail is carried freely and set slightly low. They have long, straight legs built for sprinting.

A loyal and intelligent breed of dog. They are alert and keen and love to please, training the Black and Tan Coonhound is fairly easy due to their gentle natures and willingness to follow commands. They love children. A lot of exercise is required as they are an energetic breed which can become easily highly strung if bored. They are a dedicated, loving dog.
