The Alaskan Klee Kai looks like a husky in miniature and there are three size variations. The ears are triangular in shape and stand erect highly set on the dog’s head. The tail is set high and carried beautifully curled over the dog’s back. There are two coat types standard and full coated, long and short. The colours commonly seen are black and white, red and white and grey and white although variations on these colour combinations can also be seen.
This breed of dog is not for the fainthearted or new dog owner as they are highly strung, stubborn and full of energy. They are wary of strangers and make excellent watchdogs. The Alaskan Klee Kai is an intelligent and active dog, they love to learn and to please but are also stubborn. Good with children if treated with respect by them. Not great with smaller animals unless introduced at an early age as they have a typical husky prey drive. Loyal to their owner and family.
